We are looking for accommodation assistants for the reception and return center in Märsta
We are looking for accommodation assistants for the reception and return center in Märsta, where we are now establishing several new operations, including application, asylum processing, and reception, in addition to the return operations that currently exist there. The establishment of the center is part of the national reform of asylum reception and a preparation for the implementation of the asylum pact.
Description of the center
The center is a new type of workplace. You work with issues that concern and engage in a dynamic environment characterized by meeting people and influenced by what happens in our surroundings. It is also an environment characterized by continuous learning and participation, where we, through co-location, have better conditions to work closely together between the professions in the asylum process. We are also close to the asylum seekers as we work where the asylum seekers live. This allows us to work more efficiently and make it safer for the asylum seeker.
It is an international environment, both because it is close to Arlanda Airport, where most arrive in and leave Sweden, but also because the authority will become more integrated into a common European asylum reception and EU authorities such as Frontex and EUAA next year. When you work at the center, you become part of the journey towards a new and reformed asylum reception. Since the operation is under development, there are many development opportunities. You are expected to be open to your skills and engagement being needed in various tasks performed at the center, where service and guidance are ongoing elements.
Feel free to listen to our podcast, where two experienced team leaders at the Migration Agency's accommodation share their experiences of working closely with people seeking protection in Sweden; listen here (https://www.migrationsverket.se/om-migrationsverket/jobba-hos-oss/vi-som-jobbar-har.html#podcast).
What does an accommodation assistant do in a center operation?
As an accommodation assistant, you introduce individuals to housing and the local community. You provide support, service, and information to individuals in housing and external stakeholders. As an accommodation assistant, you handle situations that arise in the housing and identify and address specific needs that individuals may have. You also participate in coordinating activities for asylum seekers. In your role, you meet people in a situation of uncertainty and change, which demands your ability to communicate and meet individuals in an empathetic and clear manner. Teamwork within your workgroup is of utmost importance to professionally meet individuals' needs and create security in the accommodation.
Your work includes managing service and logistics around the accommodation and planning to ensure that accommodation places are used effectively and appropriately. You handle documentation and administration related to the accommodation and perform transportation between accommodations and office locations. You inspect the Migration Agency's asylum accommodations, equip rooms and apartments to meet the required standards, and report issues to the landlord/supplier.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills, who is attentive and resolves conflicts constructively. You are service-oriented and accommodating in your interactions with both colleagues, applicants, and other stakeholders.
As the operation is mobile, you need to be secure and stable even in stressful or pressured situations, maintain a realistic perspective, and focus on the right things. You enjoy variation and can easily adapt and change your outlook and approach in altered circumstances.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.
You who are applying have
- High school education or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
- Experience working with a requirement for good service and professional interaction.
- Good communication skills and express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
